Sponsor-dedicated, sponsored-based, client-dedicated, client-embedded. Do any of these sound familiar?

If so, it’s because Contract Research Organizations (CROs) have a number of ways to describe employees who work in partnership, full-time with a single pharmaceutical customer. At Syneos Health, these employees drive what we call our Functional Service Provider model or FSP 360 solution.

Our 4,500 sponsor-dedicated employees within Syneos Health FSP 360 get an inside perspective at how our top pharmaceutical partners operate on a daily basis. This means learning the client’s procedures, clinical trial management systems, and providing sponsors with real-time data they can collectively review during the lifecycle of the study.

The Life of an FSP 360 Clinical Research Associate: An exciting challenge every day

Based in Italy, Valeria works in Phase I-III Oncology studies primarily focused on immunotherapy treatments. Her day-to-day work and the skills she applies are similar to other Clinical Research Associates (CRAs), but she is working exclusively with one Syneos Health customer.

Our Clinical Research Associates play one of the most significant roles in the clinical research process — verifying patient data, performing quality assurance audits and making sure the sites are following the study protocols. As a CRA, Valeria is a primary liaison between research sites, the pharma sponsor and project teams, and each day brings something new.

“I love that this job is a balance of science, medicine, project management, risk management and travel,” Valeria said. “You can never get bored! There is always something different happening, something new to learn and there is always a new challenge.”

That’s why, it’s no surprise — with research changing regularly due to new technologies or advancements in medication — no day is ever the same for our clinical monitors. The ability to be flexible and adaptable are two big traits that make our CRAs successful.

Why Syneos Health FSP 360?

Valeria probably says it best, “There is a strong bond between our sponsors and the Syneos Health management team. I have regular one-on-one meetings with my Syneos Health line manager so that we are on the same page about the workload, the sponsor initiatives and goals. We often have cross-company meetings together to track successful completion of our deliverables or timelines. It’s a true partnership.”

CRAs within FSP 360 find a range of growth and development opportunities. “It’s a great way to learn and grow in the company,” said Valeria. “You’ll feel that you’re a very important part of a clinical project and more importantly, you’ll have the support from the Syneos Health team. There are many possibilities in the client-dedicated model — various sponsors with plenty of ways to grow — and the FSP 360 team has your back every step of the way!”

Perhaps most importantly, Valeria shared why she brings her passion to work every day, “I believe in the company’s mission and values. I really think that a patient is more than just a number. They are a family member, they are a colleague and they are our neighbors. I take great pride in knowing that the company feels the same way I do about patients. That approach helps me be a better CRA.”

If you want to join Valeria and the rest of the FSP 360 team because you believe patients are more than just a number, come help us shorten the distance from lab to life. We’re hiring! -Ryan Sarda, Syneos Health, HR
